The RV Technical Institute (RVTI) is partnering for the first time with a trade school in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Jones Technical Institute (J-Tech) will become the newest learning partner with RVTI, gaining access to its RV and marine technology program curriculum to prepare J-Tech students for an RV industry career.
“As a well-respected trade school, J-Tech is an ideal partner for RVTI,” RVTI Executive Director Curt Hemmeler said. “Their state-of-the-art facility and excellent reputation combined with RVTI’s gold standard curriculum will result in many more trained RV technicians entering the industry.”
As RV sales are increasing, RVTI stated the number of well-trained RV technicians is steady or declining. With this partnership, RVTI and J-Tech are working together to address the RV industry’s experienced technician shortage.
“J-Tech is delighted to partner alongside RVTI and is eager to begin implementing RVTI’s curriculum into our Marine and RV Technology Program,” Jones Technical Institute President Gregory Jones said. “Together, we are developing future technicians that will work to keep RVs on America’s roads for years to come.”
RVTI’s syllabus includes hands-on modules, instructional materials and lesson plans that will be incorporated into the Marine and RV Technology Program at J-Tech.
J-Tech’s Marine and RV Technology Program is in its fourth term. In those terms, the Career Services Department at J-Tech has placed six students into RV careers at local dealerships.
