In honor of the RV Dealer Association of Canada’s past chairman, the association created the George Goodrick Emerging Leader Award at its annual meeting on Nov. 10. RVDA of Canada is now accepting nominations for the award through June 30.
Goodrick inspired many to volunteer and actively promote the Canadian recreation vehicle sector, the association stated, and first participated in association activities through the Atlantic RVDA. In 2008, he was appointed to the RVDA of Canada board as the representative of the Atlantic region. While serving as a director, Goodrick chaired the national education and HR committee from 2010 to April 2014. His involvement at the national level later led him to serve as treasurer, vice chairman, chairman and past chairman of the RVDA of Canada.
At the time of his passing, he was serving as a director on the Canadian Camping and RV Council board.
“We hope his legacy will inspire and cultivate many future leaders,” the association stated.
Nominations will be accepted for any early-career professional that has demonstrated exceptional commitment, passion and promise of leadership to the Canadian RV industry. This award is open to all personnel in the Canadian retail and wholesale recreation vehicle industry sector. The first award recipient will be named in the fall of 2022.
The Emerging Leader Award Selection Committee will select a recipient for the award. The committee will make the selection based only on the information submitted pertaining to the following fields of assessment: customer service, impact, innovation, initiative and social responsibility. The committee may verify the information but will not seek out additional information.
The George Goodrick Emerging Leader Award recipient will be recognized at a provincial or regional RVDA event.
Self-nominations are not accepted. Nominators must have known the nominee professionally for a minimum of two years. Nominators are not required to be a member of a Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association and must not be employed by Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association, a relative of the nominee or currently a member of the Emerging Leaders Selection Committee.
