RVDA of Canada to Submit Reports for Dealers

Canadian authorities will allow RVDA of Canada to submit consolidated Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) reports for its members. RVDA of Canada said the consolidated reporting process will be simpler and more efficient while ensuring compliance with the new PFAS regulations.

PFAS, or “forever chemicals,” are man-made, long-lasting chemicals known for their resistance to water, oil and heat. The chemicals are used in RV products such as textiles, carpets and fabric treatments.

RVDA of Canada said it aimed to gather information on the PFAS types and quantities used or imported by its members. RVDA of Canada said the findings will enable Canadian authorities to better understand the scope of PFAS usage and make informed decisions about further regulatory actions.

PFAS reports will cover imported RVs, parts and accessories. RVDA of Canada said it will certify authorization to collect, analyze and report PFAS data on behalf of its dealers.

To opt out of PFAS import reports, members are asked to notify RVDA of Canada as soon as possible. If members chose to opt out, they will be responsible for submitting PFAS data directly to Environment and Climate Change Canada. If dealers cannot meet the report deadline, they may request an extension from the Minister of the Environment before Jan. 29.

RVDA of Canada is actively pursuing a six-month extension to the submission deadline.

For questions relating to PFAS reports, contact RVDA of Canada President Eleonore Hamm.
