Business development expert Sara Hey will host two workshops and a super session in the fixed operations track at the 2022 RV Dealers Convention/Expo.
The convention/expo will take place Nov. 7-11, 2022, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
Hey will be a first-time speaker at the convention. She is among six workshop speakers announced on RVDA’s website.
Hey’s first presentation, “Unconventional Hiring Strategies for Your Parts and Service Departments,” will be at 9 a.m. Nov. 10. The workshop will cover specific dealer strategies to find and hire dealership employees. Session learning objectives include:
- Proven strategies to find technicians, parts people, salespeople, and managers for dealerships
- How to determine salary caps for each position
- Interview questions that can uncover baggage with potential hires
Her second workshop, “So, You’re Running a Parts Department,” will be at 10:15 a.m. Nov. 10. The session will teach attendees how parts managers can staff the department appropriately, inventory strategies that will not only safeguard inventory but enable growth.
During the two-hour “Super Session: Running a Service Department While Maintaining Your Sanity” at 2 p.m. Nov. 10, Hey will discuss in-depth how to turn a service department into a “mean, lean, money-producing machine,” RVDA said. She will teach attendees how to make their service department the most profitable area in their dealership, RVDA said.
Other confirmed workshop speakers include David Martin, president of the Mar-Kee Group; Tanya Miller, president of Secret Weapon Media Agency Inc.; John Peak, senior vice president of business development and global capital markets at Wells Fargo Distribution Finance; Jane Saxon, principal, dealership team, Somerset CPAs and Advisors; and Pete Smith, founder and owner of SmithImpact.
