Go RVing has long emphasized the benefits the RVing lifestyle brings everyone, RVIA stated.
A growing amount of scientific research echoes this message, with scientists finding that spending time in the woods is strongly linked to lower blood pressure and heart rate, as well as reduced risk of cardiovascular disease. RVIA posits that RV travel makes it easier to visit national parks and forests and can play a supportive role in accessing outdoor health benefits.
To help introduce current or potential RVers to the health benefits of RVing, the RVIA created a landing page for RV industry members. The landing page, rvia.org/article-tag/health-benefits, allows industry members to easily share scientific information and first-hand experiential knowledge about RVing, outdoor health and community benefits.
According to the US Forest Service, access to outdoor spaces has been shown to reduce environmental stressors such as air pollution and noise. Additionally, “cleaning and greening” has been shown to reduce overall neighborhood crime by 13% and reduce nearby residents’ feelings of depression by 41%.
The RVIA reported 72 million Americans plan to travel in an RV within the next year. In addition to fostering great bonding experiences and amazing memories with friends and family, RVs are also a product that offers greater access to important health benefits, the RVIA stated.
