The latest RVIA 2024 wholesale RV shipment forecast lowered estimates from the previous quarter’s report.
RVIA’s Winter 2023 issue of RV RoadSigns, ITR Economics’ quarterly forecast prepared for RVIA, found 2024 wholesale RV shipments projected to range between 343,900 RVs and 356,300 RVs.
The most likely total, 350,100 RVs, would be a 5.3% drop from the fall forecast, which projected a likely total of 369,700 wholesale RV shipments.
RVIA’s Winter forecast found 2023 wholesale shipments projected in a range of 302,100 to 313,400 RVs. The most likely total is 307,700 RVs, an upward revision from the previous two quarters.
The Fall RV RoadSigns report projected a likely total of 297,100 wholesale RV shipments in 2023, the same amount as projected in the Summer edition. The 307,700 forecast would be a 3.6% increase from the Fall and Summer RoadSigns editions.
However, the forecast would remain the lowest annual wholesale RV shipment total since 2013, when the industry shipped 312,127 RVs.
RVIA President and CEO Craig Kirby said, “While the past year has presented macroeconomic challenges for the industry, leading to shipment declines, this latest forecast indicates a poised recovery with anticipated moderate increases in 2024 and a subsequent accelerated growth trend in the latter half of the year. The affordability and convenience of RVing has an enduring appeal, and our research shows consumers’ continued interest in RVing, and a steadfast desire to embrace outdoor experiences while spending quality time with family and friends.”
ITR Economics and RVIA will host a webinar this afternoon at 1 p.m. ET to provide an in-depth explanation of the latest RoadSigns forecast.
