RVIA will host its first educational webinar on the RV-C protocol Nov. 19.
“RV-C 101: An Introduction to RV-C” will be presented by Martin Perlot, president of Silverleaf Electronics and the former RV-C administrator. The webinar is open to RVIA members.
Perlot is one of the protocol’s original developers, which is used in recreational vehicles to allow house and chassis components to communicate. RV-C stands for Recreation Vehicle Communication Area Network (CAN) and is used for control, coordination and diagnostics in a multi-vendor environment.
“In recent years, the number of suppliers developing component parts that are RV-C compatible has grown exponentially and shows no sign of slowing down,” RVIA stated. “Based on the continued and growing interest in RV-C in the RV industry, the RV-C Subcommittee determined that an introductory class to RV-C would be helpful.”
The protocol was developed by the RVIA RV-C Subcommittee more than 15 years ago. The webinar is designed for product developers or engineers who are not familiar with RV-C, managers who are responsible for compatible products, those responsible for RV-C related items and anyone interested in learning more about the protocol and how it works.
