RVIA is hiring two leaders in the association’s Government Affairs department. The company is seeking a legislative associate and a manager of regulatory affairs.
Legislative Associate
The selected candidate will work closely with the senior manager of state affairs and manager of federal affairs to provide support to the association’s advocacy initiatives. The employee will support RVIA’s state and federal advocacy efforts.
Responsibilities include identifying and analyzing state legislation, conducting legislative research and supporting lobbying efforts at the state/federal levels.
The association is seeking a candidate with a bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy or another related area. The applicant should have two to three years of legislative analyst experience, preferably within a trade association, a state legislative office or on Capitol Hill. Candidates should have strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and succinctly analyze legislation. Qualifications include excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, team collaboration aptitude and a willingness to travel as needed.
Manager of Regulatory Affairs
The selected candidate will monitor and respond to relevant federal and state regulations. The manager will collaborate with the association’s federal/state teams, the legal department, members and external consultants. The candidate will track regulations, draft comments and build relationships with regulatory bodies to advocate for RVIA’s priorities.
The position’s qualifications include a college education, and more than five years of work experience in regulatory affairs, preferably with an association. Applicants should have technical writing experience with a proven track record of drafting regulator comments, experience in coalition-building to draft joint comments and the ability to build and maintain regulatory decision-maker relationships.
The manager will report to the Government Affairs senior director.
