RVIA released its Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) regulatory guide, “PFAS FAQs for the RV Industry.” The guide is for RV manufacturers, suppliers, importers and dealers to navigate PFAS laws.
In the guide, RVIA breaks down complex language into actionable insights. The association provides answers to many PFAS related questions, including what PFAS are, what the federal requirements are and state-by-state regulations.
RVIA also will host a webinar Tuesday, April 29, to provide an overview of PFAS regulations and their impact.
PFAS, or “forever chemicals,” are man-made chemicals known for their water, oil, friction resistance and durability.
PFAS may be found in the RV industry in textiles, carpets, treatments, furnishings, flame retardants, adhesives, solar components and semiconductors. Federal and state governments are increasingly requiring reports, restrictions or bans on PFAS use.
RVIA said eight states passed nine bills in 2024 that may pose threats to the RV industry, and the association expects more bills to be introduced.
