The RVIA hired Corey Lee as a member of the team of inspectors responsible for over 2,000 unannounced inspections of member company RV manufacturing plants annually.
RVIA’s standards inspection program maintains a team of full-time inspectors that promote the enhancement of safety by monitoring adherence to the standards adopted by the board of directors for the construction of RVs and park model RVs.
Lee gained experience with conducting inspections in his first weeks on the job. Although hired only recently, he has already participated in a couple of inspections at local manufacturing plants and will be traveling to plants across the U.S. going forward.
“It is great to see the inspection process and be able to develop a good relationship with our members,” Lee said. “During our visits, we focus on educating the manufacturers to make sure all codes and safety standards are being followed.”
With a background in computers, electrical repair, and mechanical repair, Lee’s technical skill set blends well with his responsibilities on the standards team. He gained much of his expertise through his previous work with financial and retail technology company Diebold Corporation before eventually deciding he was ready for a career change.
“I wanted a different challenge,” Lee said. “I was looking for a change and this seemed like a great opportunity. I am excited to get going with it.”
This is the second new inspection team member announced this month. RVIA also hired Steve Duncan to be a standards inspector.
