The RV Technical Institute (RVTI) held its first Authorized Learning Partner (ALP) Conference at RVTI’s headquarters in Elkhart, Indiana.
The training gathered 29 ALP managers and trainers on Dec. 4-5. The attendees represented 393 partner locations, including 389 dealerships, two correctional facilities and two technician colleges.
According to RVTI, participants came together with a common goal to train quality certified technicians.
Brad Woods, Camping World director of learning and development, said, “The dealership representation that was in the room was all on the same page with one common goal, and that was to help the institute produce the best possible technician training product. The RV industry is in good hands with the institute spearheading this effort. I was honored to participate.”
The conference provided insight into tools available to ALPs to enhance training programs. Attendees toured RVTI’s facilities to generate ideas for training setups at ALP locations. RVTI discussed different training structures and focused on combining partners’ ideas with RVTI tools and resources.
The conference dinner Dec. 5 was sponsored by Southwire and AP Products.
The conference is a part of RVTI’s “Hub and Spoke” model. The model builds an ALP network across the country to offer RVTI’s curriculum. Partners are currently training and certifying 85% of RVTI students.
ALPs have access to RVTI’s full technician curriculum, course materials, learning management system and first attempt at testing. Partners also receive ongoing trainer training on curriculum, delivery and labs.
