Sobel University added management break-out sessions to its Comprehensive Sales Training Course, scheduled for April 4-8 in Tacoma, Washington.
The company stated the change reflects reports from around the country highlighting a significant RV market shift.
“Major RV retailers are promoting huge inventories and guaranteed discounts in order to buy market share from other dealers,” Sobel University President Jered Sobel said. “The skills used to sell RVs over the last two years, when inventory was limited, will not hold up in the years ahead.”
The Comprehensive Sales Course is a market-adaptive training program for new and experienced salespeople, managers and dealers. The course is a boot-camp style class with eight hours of classroom instruction, homework every night and exams every day.
Students are put into role-playing situations to sharpen their skills.
“Because of what they are seeing in their local competitive markets, dealers are registering their managers for the April class and requesting curriculum that is normally reserved for advanced winter courses,” Sobel said. “They know that when nearby a competitor offers the same product with a $5,000-10,000 discount, managers will need to be prepared to help their salespeople maintain sales and gross profits.”
