Team RV Express Partners with March of Dimes

Middlebury, Indiana-based transporter Team RV Express has united with March of Dimes Canada (MODC) in an effort to raise $75,000 for the MODC’s Campers Helping Campers (CHC) program.

“March of Dimes Canada is very excited to be working with Team RV Express,” MOSC’s Associate Director Dennis R. Ullman says. “This partnership will help enhance our growth across Canada and strengthen support from the RV dealers in the industry.”

Team RV Express is Canada’s largest RV transporter so this partnership was a good way for the company to give back, says Shawn McGee, Team RV Express marketing executive for eastern Canada. McGee, along with Devon Mason, his counterpart for western Canada, conceived the idea and worked out the details with the MODC and with the participating Canadian dealerships.

The program is pretty simple, McGee says.

“For every invoice we deliver, we are asking for a $5 donation. At the end of the year, Team RV will match the donations made by the dealers by writing a check in the dealer’s name for $10 per delivery.”

Participating dealers will be acknowledged by the March of Dimes on their website, McGee says. The donations are a tax credit for the dealers, McGee said.

According to Ullman, more than 2,000 Canadians living with disabilities benefit from the CHC program which is supported by the Canadian RV, camping and resort industries.

“Team RV Express is the first transport company to support March of Dimes Canada,” he says.
Ullman also said through the Campers Helping Campers program, which began in 1969 in Ontario and now reaches nationwide, more than $2 million has been raised. He added that “many of the program participants would never be able to afford an opportunity to enjoy a camping experience” without the CHC program.

“Together we are making dreams come true,” he says.

Estimates indicate that if the partners reach the goal of raising $75,000 this year, approximately 500 children and adults with disabilities will experience an outdoor camping experience that probably wouldn’t have existed otherwise. The program will launch officially on Jan. 1, 2020.
