The Shyft Group Acquires Midwest Vehicle Upfitter

The Shyft Group broadened its specialty vehicle offerings with its recent acquisition. The company acquired Independent Truck Upfitter (ITU), a Midwest service body and work truck upfitter.

Shyft Group President and CEO John Dunn said, “ITU’s unique products and capabilities are a fantastic complement to our existing portfolio, allowing us to offer even greater value to our collective customers.”

ITU serves construction, fleet management and utility companies with custom solutions including vehicle bodies, liftgates and aftermarket accessories. According to Shyft Group, the company expects to expand into new markets through the acquisition.

ITU CEO Tim Craft said the company is eager to join Shyft Group.

“Shyft’s commitment to operational excellence and customer focus aligns well with ITU,” Craft said. “We look forward to the opportunities this acquisition will bring for our customers and team members.”
