Thetford LLC unveiled its anniversary logo celebrating the company’s 60 years of providing sanitation solutions to the RV industry.
Thetford was founded in 1963 by Frank Sargent and his two sons when they were unhappy with the black water drain valve on their RV. The three engineering-minded family members decided to create a better drain valve design.
As a result of this experiment in industrial design, in May 1963, the Sergeants founded Thetford Engineering in a Thetford Twp. garage near Flint, Michigan. The company remains based in Michigan today.
“In an industry where suppliers come and go, Thetford has remained committed to providing high quality and specifically designed sanitation solutions for the RV industry,” said Mary Pouliot, Thetford North America executive vice president. “No other company has been as focused and committed to the industry as we have. Throughout 2023, we plan on celebrating everything Thetford has accomplished since 1963 with our customers, consumers, employees and community.”
