Thor Motor Coach will unveil a new mid-model year version of the Tranquility Type B Van for the upcoming Hershey RV show.
Tranquility is built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 chassis with a 4×4 platform and optional all-terrain tires. The six-cylinder diesel engine provides 188 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. Towing capabilities are provided on a 3,500-pound hitch.
The 19-foot-long motorhome features two floorplans, the 19P and 19L. The 19P includes rear bench-style seating with seat belts for three that electronically unfolds into a sleeping area. The 19L includes an enclosed wet bath, large kitchen and forward seating. A Froli sleep system is available in the rear sleeping area and adds large pull-out side trays.
Both floor plans have Tecnoform Euro-style cabinetry, available in “Metallic Gray”’ or “Radiant Silver,” with corresponding cool-tone interior décor.
Safety features include a top-mounted LED light bar with a cover, keyless entry, a backup monitor and adaptive cruise control. A 10.25-inch MBUX multimedia screen is integrated with the tilt and telescoping steering wheel’s control buttons and controls Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
An exterior table folds out underneath the Thule-powered patio awning. A JBL Flip speaker can be portable or wall-mounted and connects via Bluetooth to a device or smartphone.
The models highlighted in the Hershey RV Show are off-grid capable. The Tranquility models on display include a 190-watt solar panel, a 400-amp-hour lithium battery and a Balmar 170-amp alternator.
