Truma Augments Air Conditioning Efficiency

Truma North America upgraded its Truma Aventa air conditioning (AC) system. The supplier refined the product’s efficiency by integrating SoftStartUSA technology into its appliances.

Truma Vice President Mark Howlett said the company included the SoftStartRV AC soft start controller to improve power efficiency. The Aventa air conditioner was introduced to North American markets in 2021 to provide air-conditioning powered by 12-volt charge.

He said, “Being able to add the soft start technology to the Truma Aventa allows for greater flexibility in usage for the end-user.”

The SoftStartRV drastically reduces startup amps, enabling the Aventa to start more easily off inverters and generators.

According to Howlett, the SoftStartRV is around half the size of its competitors. The size accommodates Aventa’s low silhouette and aerodynamic design without restricting airflow.A picture of SoftStartUSA's SoftStartRV air conditioner controller.

Howlett said the integration will cause less impact on internal components.

The supplier conducted months of testing to ensure the feature’s quality.

In July, RV manufacturers and end-consumers may buy a Truma Aventa eco or comfort with the SoftStartRV feature through Truma. A Truma service facility or Truma mobile technician can add the SoftStartRV feature to current Aventa ACs as an aftermarket installation.
