The Pennsylvania Recreation Vehicle and Camping Association provided some more details about the recently-cancelled Hershey America’s Largest RV Show in a new video this week.
PRVCA Executive Director Heather Leach said the decision to cancel the 2020 show is based on current nationwide health and safety guidelines in response to the growing number of coronavirus cases across the country. The association moved to officially cancel the 2020 Hershey America’s Largest RV Show this week, and announced that it hopes to provide content in other ways in lieu of the physical event.
“Like you, we were looking forward to reconnecting with the industry after so many months at home, and this was a tough decision to make given that we do not know what the country will look like in September,” Leach said. “However, we feel that this is the right decision based on the guidelines we have currently available.”
The 2020 show was set to take place September 16-20 at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The Hershey America’s Largest RV Show committee, PRVCA board members and staff discussed options together and decided to cancel the 2020 show, Leach said.
Leach said PRVCA staff are developing ideas to “highlight the industry, provide information and showcase… products and services,” and will share more information soon. Registered attendees who had already provided deposits will hear from PRVCA staff soon regarding those deposits.
“The health and safety of everyone involved with the show is our highest priority,” Leach said.
Leach said RV industry professionals should look forward to news regarding the industry open house, which usually happens in late March or early April. She said the PRVCA will promote RVing and camping through a statewide ad campaign in the next few weeks. The 2021 Hershey America’s Largest RV Show is set for Sept. 14-19, 2021.
