Dave DeGraaf, hired by Volta Power Systems in the fall of 2020 as the company’s CEO, has left the company for another position.
DeGraaf was hired as the CEO at JR Automation, a subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd. and a supplier of robotics and manufacturing system integrations.
At Volta Power Systems, DeGraaf stepped in for co-founder Jack Johnson, who became the chief technology officer. DeGraaf and Johnson both worked at Johnson Controls in Michigan from 2011-2014.
Johnson worked in the company’s lithium battery production division while DeGraaf was the vice president and general manager of the OE Power Solutions group.
At JR Automation, DeGraff will oversee 2,000 employees and over 1.5 million square feet of manufacturing floor space across 21 global plants.
DeGraaf said, “It is inspiring to see all the truly innovative work being done within these facilities around the world.”
