Voyager RV is raising funds through its Voyager Cares Initiative to support its local community. The dealer is striving to disperse $240,000 by the end of 2024.
Over seven days in June, the company raised $54,200 that was distributed to three different charities. The Central Okanagan Community Food Bank received $19,420, the Kelowna Women’s Shelter received $18,020 and the KGH Foundations received $16,760.
Voyager RV Vice President Jason Friesen said, “These donations are a small way for us to say a big thank you.”
When a Voyager consumer buys an RV, a portion of the total sale goes toward a local charity. Voyager adjusted the process this year to provide consumers a choice on which of six charities they would like their purchase donation to go. Consumers may choose to donate to Autism Okanagan, BC
Diabetes Foundation, Child Advocacy Centre or the three charities that received June donations.
The donation goes partly to the consumer’s selected charity. The remainder will be equally distributed to other charities.
Friesen said, “It is a simple concept, but it works really well because our staff and now our customers get to be a huge part of it.”
