A dedication ceremony for a road named after a late Indiana congresswoman has been rescheduled due to an inclement weather forecast, The Goshen News reported.
Elkhart County Commissioners moved the ceremony honoring former U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) to the planned rain date. The ceremony now will begin at 10 a.m. ET Thursday.
The parkway is at County Road 4 in the Elkhart East Industrial Parkway, between County Road 19 and County Road 17. The dedication ceremony will be held at the parkway’s east end, near County Road 19.
Walorski died in a 2022 car accident. In December 2022, county commissioners decided to name the road after Walorski when presented the opportunity to name the new road.
The new road was added during construction of the industrial park now housing an Amazon warehouse.
