Winnebago released its first information on the manufacturer’s eRV2 prototype testing, which began Jan. 23.
Winnebago said in its first three testing weeks, 12 testers drove the eRV2 fleet 6,784 miles over 75 combined nights.
“Winnebago has already begun to gain valuable insight,” the company said, “along with more information on the eRV2’s electrification.”
Winnebago said the motorhome’s published 108-mile range between charges has been a “well-suited option for our current pilot program.”
However, the company said it continues to research opportunities to extend the vehicle’s range.
Winnebago said the motorhome’s IonBlade house battery system, developed by Winnebago and Lithionics Battery, provides up to 15,000 watt-hours of power and charges in as little as two hours.
