Winnebago Industries revealed its updated 2021 Accessibility Enhanced (AE) RV line as on-the-road travel soars in popularity across the U.S.

The Inspire AE and Adventurer 30T AE models feature platform wheelchair lifts and standard wheelchair tie-downs, as well as expanded hallways and bathrooms.

Winnebago announced an exclusive dealer partnership with La Mesa RV to carry the 2021 model year products. La Mesa is based in San Diego and has locations in Arizona, California, Florida and New Mexico.

“This year we have seen a drastic change in the way people vacation, and with RV travel on the rise, La Mesa RV wants to provide model options to all of our customers across the country, including those with mobility limitations,” La Mesa RV President Jason Kimbrell stated. “We are excited to work with Winnebago and enable more people to experience the joys of traveling with a modified, accessible RV and very little wait time.”

The new AE floorplans include design elements commonly requested by consumers and dealers, including expanded spaces, accessible light and system controls and wheelchair lift remote controls.

The Inspire is a 35-foot Class A diesel with abundant space and power, Winnebago stated. The Adventurer 30T is a 31-foot Class A that offers a sleeper sofa, roll-under sink and pedestal tables.

“As a company dedicated to innovation, Winnebago is always looking to improve our Accessibility Enhanced RVs,” stated Robert Kim, Winnebago’s specialty vehicle division director. “For the 2021 AE line, we are excited to offer two class A platforms with so many accessible features.”

The 2021 AE line provides wheelchair travelers comfort and privacy to make daily living more effortless and travel enjoyable, the company stated. Almost every room within the new floorplans are enhanced to meet mobility limitation requirements. The enhancements require Winnebago to change 40 percent of the features compared to a conventional motorhome, the company stated.

“Winnebago takes great pride in the design of our AE units,” stated Jennifer Butters, Winnebago specialty vehicle division director of sales. “We test real-world scenarios with wheelchairs and other equipment to ensure optimum usability to enhance the RV travel experience for these individuals and their families.”

The 2021 Inspire will be on display at the 2021 Florida RV Supershow Jan. 13-17 in Tampa, Florida.
