RV manufacturer Winnebago Industries published its 2023 Corporate Responsibility Report, its fifth annual report. The report showcases the company’s efforts toward a sustainable and equitable future.
Winnebago Industries President and CEO Michael Happe said, “At Winnebago Industries, we want the outdoors to continue to be a place to find health, happiness and connection, so we hold close the imperative to protect and preserve our environment for future generations.”
Winnebago Industries’ corporate responsibility priorities include ethics and integrity; safety; people; diversity, equity and inclusion; community; waste; emissions; product stewardship and water.
The report recorded Winnebago Industries’ first CDP Climate Change Questionnaire. Progress toward waste reduction improved, diverting 62% of waste from enterprise landfills. Winnebago lowered Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 20% since 2020.
Total recordable incident rates for safety were reduced by 16% compared to the 2022 fiscal year. Winnebago and volunteers contributed over $3 million in financial and product contributions to communities the company serves in the 2023 fiscal year.
The company upgraded the eRV2, an all-electric RV, and acquired lithium-battery manufacturer, Lithionics Battery.
The Winnebago board of director demographics increased from 14% women and no persons of color to 30% women and 20% persons of color in 2023.
The report aligns with the Global Reporting Initiative Universal Standards, the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures and Winnebago’s Sustainability Accounting Standards Board index.
Winnebago Industries’ General Counsel Stacy Bogart said, “Our corporate responsibility efforts are the cornerstone of our sustainable business growth and long-term profitability, and they fuel our ultimate purpose to help people explore the outdoors, enabling extraordinary experiences as they travel, live, work and play.”
