Winnebago Launches Connected RVs

Winnebago released a feature enabling consumers to remotely monitor and control RV systems. Winnebago Connect is the brand’s first custom software development feature.

The system supplies consumers with various controls over RV aspects, including lights, water systems and door locks.

The feature is integrated into 2025 Winnebago View and Navion 24T floorplans. Within the next few years, Winnebago will incorporate the feature into the brand’s entire line-up.

Winnebago Connect is linked to the Winnebago App, available to Apple and Android devices. Through the app, Winnebago Connect sends consumers real-time alerts.

The app will notify consumers with updates regarding RV system issues. Winnebago Connect responds to issues. For example, when the feature detects wind, it will retract the RV awning.

The app also provides step-by-step video tutorials, support topics and checklists.

Winnebago Vice President of Digital Transformation Kim Weckert said, “It transforms how customers can engage with their motorhome, and how Winnebago can respond to user needs through intelligent software.”

Winnebago Connect is available to consumers in three subscription levels.

Winnebago Connect Essentials

The standard version is free and includes basic service levels. The option monitors and controls many RV systems when RVers are connected to the RV’s network.

Consumers can program interior lights to change brightness and colors throughout the day based on sleep or work preferences.

The system monitors internal and external climate conditions. Winnebago Connect can adjust the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system as needed.

Winnebago Connect tracks total energy consumption. The feature regulates RV electrical systems by shutting down select components such as air conditioners, hair dryers or coffee makers to prevent damage. The system can automatically turn off energy-draining systems such as tank heaters.

Consumers can turn the water pump and water heater on/off at designated times. RVers can also set water temperatures through the app. The system manages awning and RV door locks.

Winnebago Connect Premium

The premium version includes the Essentials features with expanded abilities. Consumers can monitor systems and run advanced diagnostics from any network, not just the RV’s network. With the premium version, consumers can access and change settings while in a different state than their RV.

Premium consumers have access to Winnebago’s customer care team. Ongoing over-the-air software updates are available to ensure consumers have the latest tools.

The premium option is free for the first year, and then available for $15 per month.

Winnebago Connect Premium + Wi-Fi

The Premium Wi-Fi subscription includes all premium features with streaming data available through the RV’s network. Fees are based on Wi-Fi selections. Ten-gigabyte or 100-gigabyte options are available.

Weckert said, “Winnebago Connect is the culmination of years of hard work and dedication to deliver next-generation conveniences to our customers.”
