Winnebago Industries has tasked its newly appointed RV leaders with building brand profitability and market share in the approaching quarters.
The manufacturer chose Grand Design President and CEO Don Clark to steward all Winnebago towable brands in light of Grand Design’s success. Winnebago President and CEO Mike Happe discussed his expectations for Clark during a call reporting fiscal 2024 financial results.
Happe said, “We are very pleased with the performance of the Grand Design towables business over time and continue to feel that there’s significant runway there.”
According to Happe, Clark will drive Winnebago’s towable division to market share gains and profitability. Winnebago brand towables’ current market share sits around 1.5%. Happe said his goal is to double that number and possibly reach 5%.
He said, “The expectation internally is that we can build a business of that significance to complement the Grand Design Towables business.”
Happe also has high expectations for Chris West, who was appointed as Winnebago branded Motorhome and Specialty Vehicles president in August. West has served various roles with the manufacturer over the past eight years.
Happe said, “In the short term, Chris is expected to stabilize the consistent performance of that business quarter to quarter.”
He said West will likely achieve this in a couple of quarters. After stabilizing performance, Happe said he expects West to build a profitable segment share.
